NormaTec Compression Therapy at TAVÚ: How a Session Works

TL;DR: NormaTec Compression Therapy at TAVÚ uses pulsing air compression to support circulation and recovery. A full Individual Session runs 45 minutes for AED 160, with a 20-minute Compression Flush add-on and a 6-session Recovery Pack. Book through the website or the Mindbody app.
What Is Compression Therapy at TAVÚ?
NormaTec Compression Therapy at TAVÚ is a recovery treatment that uses pulsing air compression to stimulate circulation and support faster muscle recovery — the same style of system used by professional athletes worldwide.
It's offered two ways at TAVÚ: as its own 45-minute Individual Session, or as a shorter add-on to a Contrast Therapy session when you want the extra recovery without adding much time to your visit.
How the System Works
NormaTec's compression boots wrap around your legs and inflate and deflate in a sequential pattern, moving from your feet upward — a pulsing, wave-like pressure rather than a single constant squeeze. The pressure is adjustable, so a session can be set gentler for a first-timer or firmer for someone used to the system.
Who It's For
TAVÚ recommends it after intense training and for heavy or tight legs, injury recovery, and swelling or fluid retention.
How a Session Works
A full Individual Session runs 45 minutes, with pressure customized to you. For a quicker option, the 20-minute Compression Flush add-on can be booked onto any Contrast Therapy session for AED 50 — see what that session includes on the Contrast Therapy page.
What It's Used For
Compression Therapy at TAVÚ is positioned as a recovery aid rather than a treatment, recommended for:
- After intense training
- Heavy or tight legs
- Injury recovery
- Swelling or fluid retention
TAVÚ offers it as a recovery session that stimulates circulation and supports muscle recovery. The research is still developing: a 2024 systematic review and meta-analysis of lower-limb intermittent pneumatic compression (the technology NormaTec uses) found trivial to moderate effects on perceived pain and soreness, trivial to small benefits for muscle function (not statistically significant), and no clear effect on lactate clearance (see Sources below) — so think of it as a comfort and recovery aid rather than a guaranteed performance fix.
Compression Therapy is a wellness and recovery practice, not a medical treatment. If you have a circulation condition, a blood clot history, or any other medical concern, check with your doctor before booking.
